Sampling
There is no way around it: Language is subjective in nature. Therefore, in order to end up with the best product, due diligence in the beginning is necessary.
In order to create samples, Soventrans.com will review existing client materials to try and find content indicative of what we can expect to receive over the course of our relationship. For example, this may include highly branded marketing copy, instructional copy, legal terms & conditions and/or abbreviated database text.
Once the sample content has been organized, we will create a client-specific linguistic team from the pool for each target language/market, consisting of a translator, editor and proofreader, and have them translate the sample copy. It will then be submitted to the client for review. Should the In-Country Reviewer require adjustments, Soventrans.com stands by to act on the feedback until the resulting adaptations exceed expectations. If the client is time challenged, we'll provide several samples at the start of the project – just to make sure we hit mark quickly.
Once the client has reviewed the sample(s) and helped us define the target for linguistic success, we then lock the most appropriate team of linguists for that client. Soventrans.com has now laid the foundation for success in all future engagements. Depending on the variation in content type, we may potentially have more than one linguistic team. For example, we need separate members of the team to adapt highly branded copy vs. legal terms and conditions.
The result of this collaboration is that we've taken the guesswork out of producing great on-brand translations, and can now provide on-time and on-budget work.
