Glossaries

For glossaries, Soventrans.com will review our client's website and existing collateral, as well as content from previous translation efforts, and extract any brand-specific or industry-specific terminology, as well as any Frequently Occurring Units. This information will be used to create a master English glossary. This glossary will then be submitted to the client for any revisions/additions/deletions, as well as final sign-off.

Once the master glossary is finalized, native-speaking linguists will review previously translated material to find any existing translations for the glossary terms, as well as suggest possible translations for any terms that do not currently have language equivalents. Once the language versions of the glossary are complete, they will be submitted to the client's In-Country Reviewers for revisions/additions/deletions, as well as final sign-off.

Glossaries are typically viewed as an investment in the Brand and a first step in ensuring consistent use of terminology across a multinational enterprise. We typically place them on a secure web portal and make them easily accessible to geographically dispersed content authors, so that, even if content is created in-language (i.e. never translated), it can be consistent with all translated material.
