A Content Management system, such as Fatwire Content Server, allows users to create content in a template format while enjoying the benefits of its robust back-end database. However, when it comes to the localization process, such benefits become a hassle for the users. The challenges of extracting content from Fatwire Content Server as well as inserting it back usually requires additional development resources during the implementation, and a lot of trial and error when such custom solutions are first being implemented.

GlobalLink Fatwire Adaptor establishes its data, UI and workflow integration through the published Web services provided by Fatwire Content Server. GlobalLink understands how the data is stored in Fatwire Content Server and how the data should be extracted and inserted in order to maintain the integrity of the data. Upon the data extraction, GlobalLink will make use of the XML export function in Fatwire Content Server and post the exported Asset in an XML format to a secure site, allowing your localization service provider to perform localization tasks outside of Fatwire Content Server. When the localized version of the exported content is ready for delivery, GlobalLink will then automatically insert the Asset back into the desired "Site" in Fatwire Content Server based on the localized version of the exported XML. Using GlobalLink, content managers no longer need to copy and paste Assets for localization or have non-standard custom solutions built for localization specifically.

Moreover, there is a great chance that not all Assets need to be localized in one Site. GlobalLink Fatwire Adaptor allows users to configure what Asset type needs to be monitored by GlobalLink for localization purposes and to access configured Asset types in the embedded GlobalLink tab. Through this UI integration, Fatwire Content Server users can easily identify what Assets should be sent out for localization through GlobalLink's Browse Content and/or Change List feature and keep track of the progress of previously submitted Assets.

GlobalLink Fatwire Adaptor also provides Workflow integration so that a task can be added to one or more existing workflows in Fatwire Content Server. Then, whenever an Asset reaches that workflow task, it will be collected and sent out for localization through GlobalLink. Upon the return of the localized version of the Asset, GlobalLink will also initiate a configured workflow for the localized Asset.
