GlobalLink Documentum Adaptor

An organization with a Documentum Content Server implemented aims at having a consistent and manageable way to manage content and the creation process. Why should the localization process of content in your Documentum environment be any different?

GlobalLink provides data integration, user interface integration, as well as workflow integration with the latest version of Documentum. This allows business users to easily manage localization processes within Documentum and the Documentum UI. This eliminates the worry of being able to have a scalable, repeatable and efficient process in which external localization service providers can localize content without sacrificing already existing workflows.

Through the Documentum Foundation Class, the GlobalLink Documentum Adaptor allows GlobalLink to understand the data structure stored in Documentum Docbase and to extract and insert content from and into the correct Docbase, cabinet and folders automatically, while setting the correct file attributes (such as locale).

The Documentum Adaptor also provides a tighter integration with Documentum Lifecycle and/or workflow, allowing the Documentum administrator to add a State or an Activity so that any content that reaches the specific state or activity will be collected and sent out for localization. Once the localized content is returned from translation, it will be sent to the correct Docbase, cabinet or folder, as well as initiate the next step in the lifecycle/workflow.

GlobalLink Documentum Adaptor also provides a UI integration Kit so that during the installation, the Documentum Administrator can install the Kit into either WebTop or WebPublisher. Documentum users will then be able to access GlobalLink functionality within the Documentum User Interface via an embedded GlobalLink Menu and GlobalLink pages. Such integration eliminates the need for users to interact with two applications. Documentum users can work as if GlobalLink is part of the core Documentum built-in functionality.
