GlobalLink Database Adaptor
Combined with the GlobalLink base functionality, business users can now easily submit, receive and track content for localization from more complex repositories like SQL databases without requiring the assistance of a database administrator. Content managers use built-in automated Change Detection functionality to easily identify content changes and make prompt business decisions regarding whether the changed content should be sent out for translation in order to keep source and target languages in sync.
Content managers submit content for translation and GlobalLink automatically sends that content to an FTP site wrapping the content in XML code. Soventrans.com then receives notification via email that the content is ready for translation. Once the translation is completed, it is posted back to the FTP site and GlobalLink automatically inserts the translated content into the configured database table(s) within the database server converting it back from XML. The translated content can be utilized immediately. By streamlining this process, GlobalLink allows businesses to cost effectively manage more content, not more people.
GlobalLink supports all major SQL databases available in the market, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Sybase, etc. Using JDBC access, GlobalLink can easily be configured to connect to the database and perform the necessary database operations for localization purposes. The database connection and database monitoring parameters only need to be configured once. That will last throughout the project.
Once the database connection and database parameters are configured, business users can easily view and find changed content through GlobalLink's web-based user interface, and select the necessary content to be sent out for translation. GlobalLink will automatically extract the selected content and convert it into XML format, with translatable content identified in the XML schema. Therefore, translation can easily be performed on the XML file. Upon the receipt of the translated content, GlobalLink will then insert new multilingual content, or update previously translated content stored in the database, ensuring that the multilingual content is kept in sync with the source language content.
